Michigan Automotive Glass Insurance Claims
Just one call handles it all!
How glass insurance works: Automobile insurance is divided into two types: Collision and Comprehensive. Glass damage is covered by the Comprehensive portion. When you have glass damage, you make a claim against your comprehensive policy, and the insurance company pays the glass shop for a portion of the repair bill. Because it’s not a collision, a glass claim does not make you a “higher risk” driver and usually will not affect your insurance rates. Every insurance company has different policies, see your insurance agent for specific details about your policy.
Making glass claims:
Very few insurance companies process their own glass claims. When you call in, you get routed to a third-party call center that processes the claims paperwork. Some of those third-party companies are owned by or have a financial agreement with a glass company. The third-party may try to get you to go to their own shop. Sometimes they even try scare tactics by saying they won’t guarantee any other glass shop’s work.
Don’t get bullied – Your right to choose your own glass shop is protected by Michigan Law, and we have guaranteed our work since 1915. You can control the process by deciding which glass shop you trust before you file the claim, and by remembering that the third party has their own financial interest in mind.
Deductibles
Your deductible is set by your insurance agent when you buy your policy – You get a lower insurance premium in exchange for agreeing to pay the first portion of every claim.
Our low cash price alternative: If your policy doesn’t cover glass damage or you have a high deductible, our low cash price is your answer. We replace more glass than anyone in Michigan, so our buying power allows us to offer you the best prices on the best brands of glass.
Another option for you is getting an emergency loan. This way is acceptable when you have more severe damage and aren’t able to cover all the costs on the repair by yourself.
RESIDENTIAL GLASS
You will be amazed! The possibilities are endless, no matter the size of the job.
